I am having to depart in Feb 2010 for my exchange
because I cannot get into University if I depart for Hungary august 2009

AFS has emailed Hungary to see if they'll take me, but if not, I will have to re-choose my countries from a very limited list.
I don't have a problem with this anymore, because I see that wherever I go I will have an amazing year that is different to my life here in New Zealand and will gain invaluable skills. :-)

What are you planning on doing at uni? And which Uni?
I plan to go to Auckland Uni and i can get in without Y13, you apply with discretionary entrance based on L2. But if you wanna do something like medicine your best to go back to High school after your exchange.
Have you talked with your desired university?
